Abstract

Introduction: In Iran, there is no formal educational program on oral and dental health during pregnancy within midwifery curricula. Therefore, this study aims to design, implement, and evaluate an oral health training course for undergraduate midwifery students at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 1401.
Methods: This cross-sectional census study in 1401in Isfahan involved 75 undergraduate midwifery students. A validated questionnaire, previously used by Faghihian et al. in 2023, was distributed to assess awareness, attitude, and performance. Following the pre-test, a training course was conducted. Changes in awareness, attitude, and performance were measured immediately after and three months post-workshop. Data were analyzed employing independent t-tests and repeated-measures ANOVA at a 5% significance level.
Results: A significant increase in awareness was observed at all stages (p<0.001), with the highest performance level recorded three months post-workshop (p<0.001).
Conclusion: The oral health course significantly improved midwifery students' awareness and performance.
