چکیده

بیوپسی عبارت از برداشت نسج از یک موجود زنده جهت انجام بررسی‌های میکروسکوپی است. بیوپسی در بسیاری از موارد قطعی‌ترین جواب را در تشخیص ضایعات به دست می‌دهد که در صورت عدم انجام بیوپسی، تشخیص قطعی ممکن و میسر نمی‌باشد. این روش در کنار معاینات بالینی و تهیه شرح‌حال مناسب از بیماران و تصاویر رادیوگرافی، اطلاعات بسیار با ارزش و مطمئن‌تری را در اختیار پزشک قرار می‌دهد. هدف از ارایه این مقاله، مروری بر روش‌های مختلف انجام بیوپسی و ملاحظات در مورد موارد کاربرد و عدم کاربرد آن و اشکالات رایج در زمینه انجام بیوپسی بود. کلید واژه‌ها: بیوپسی، اکسیژنال، اینسیژنال، آسپیراسیون، سایتولوژی، پانچ.

Biopsy, how and why?

The term biopsy indicates the removal of tissue from a living body for diagnostic microscopic examinations. Biopsy is the most accurate and appropriate of all diagnostic histologic procedures. Without biopsy, accurate diagnosis of lesions is impossible. Biopsy procedures should be performed whenever a definitive diagnosis cannot be established by common clinical examinations. The purpose of taking a biopsy is to distinguish different lesions with similar clinical or radiographic features or diagnosis of malignancies. This article presents different types of biopsies, indications, contraindications and common problems in biopsy procedures.   Key words:  Aspiration, Biopsy, Cytology, Excisional, Incisional, Punch.
