چکیده

مقدمه: اثرات مواد مخدر بر دندان‌ها و بافت‌های دهان به‌قدری وسیع است که گاهی شناسایی افراد معتاد از طریق بررسی وضعیت سلامت دهان و دندان آنان صورت می‌پذیرد. مطالعه‌ی حاضر با هدف مقایسه شاخص‌های بهداشت دهان، پوسیدگی و پیگمانتاسیون لثه بین افراد سوء مصرف‌کننده‌ی مواد و افراد سیگاری انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌ها:  در این مطالعه‌ی تحلیلی از نوع کوهورت تاریخی که در سال 1401 در دانشکده‌ی دندان‌پزشکی خوراسگان و مراکز ترک اعتیاد انجام شد، 70 فرد سیگاری و 70 فرد سوء مصرف‌کننده‌ی مواد همسان‌سازی شده بر اساس جنسیت، مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. سه شاخص DOPI (Dummett oral pigmentation index)، DMFT (decayed/missing/filled teeth index) و (Oral hygiene index simplified) OHI-S در افراد دو گروه اندازه‌گیری و ثبت شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های آماری، Independent T-test، Chi-square، One way ANOVA، Fisher’s exact test  و Mann-Whitney با در نظر گرفتن سطح معنی‌داری کمتر از 0/05 تجزیه و تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: ههر سه شاخص DOPI، DMFT و OHI-S در افراد سوءمصرف‌کننده‌ی مواد به طور معنی‌داری بیشتر از افراد سیگاری بود (0/001 > p value). ریسک‌فاکتورهایی همچون: مصرف مواد مخدر، استفاده‌ی کمتر از مسواک و استفاده‌ی کمتر از نخ دندان، مراجعه‌ی کمتر به دندان‌پزشک و مراقب‌های بهداشتی کمتر در خصوص دهان و دندان، همچنین میزان بیشتر مصرف سیگار در افراد سوء مصرف‌کننده‌ی مواد مخدر نسبت به افراد سیگاری در مطالعه‌ی حاضر به دست آمد، که این ریسک‌فاکتورها باعث اختلاف معنی‌دار بین دو گروه شده بود.
نتیجه‌گیری: ووضعیت سلامت دهان و دندان در افراد سوءمصرف کننده‌ی مواد مخدر به طور قابل‌توجهی از افراد سیگاری بدتر بود. پیشگیری از مصرف مواد مخدر، می‌تواند نقش مؤثری در افزایش سلامت دهان و دندان ایفا کند.

Comparison of Oral Hygiene, Caries and Gingival Pigmentation Indices between Drug Abusers and Smokers

چکیده [English]

Introduction: The effects of narcotic drugs on the teeth and oral tissues are so extensive that sometimes, the identification of drug addicts is done by examining their oral and dental health status. The present study was conducted with the aim of drug abusers.
Materials and methods: In this historical cohort study, 70 smokers and 70 drug abusers were examined. Three indices of DOPI, DMFT, and OHI-S were measured and recorded in two groups. The data was analyzed using Independent t, Chi-square, One-way covariance, Fisher's exact, and Mann-Whitney statistical tests.
Results: The average score of all three indicators, DOPI, DMFT, and OHI-S was significantly higher in drug abusers than in smokers (p value < 0.001). Risk factors included drug use, less use of toothbrushes and less use of dental floss, fewer visits to the dentist, and fewer health care providers regarding mouth and teeth, as well as more smoking in drug abusers compared to smokers in the study. It was found that these risk factors caused a significant difference between the two groups.
Conclusion: The oral hygiene status of drug abusers was significantly worse than that of smokers. Drug prevention can play an influential role in increasing oral and dental health.
